Welcome to the Shark Alliance EU Country Profiles

The EU is a global shark fishing power, but its record on shark conservation is changing. The fate of shark populations off Europe and all over the globe hang in the balance as the EU faces the challenge of cooperative, prompt and full implementation of the 2009 EU Shark Action Plan. All 27 EU member states have a role to play in making this a reality.
  • Click on a country or select it from the menu to see the shark conservation facts, progress and positions of each
  • You can currently view profiles for France, Germany, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom
  • We will be adding profiles for each EU country, so please check back if a country of interest isn't yet featured
